50-ACRE ASH POND CLOSURE

PROJECT SCOPE

CBP was contracted to complete the McMeekin Station project which consisted of a 50-acre ash landfill closure. The project scope included relocating 180,000 cubic yards of ash and reshaping the entire landfill to match the design.

The landfill was Capped with an 18” impervious clay liner and a 6” vegetative cover layer. Designed to control the stormwater were 7500 linear feet of diversion berms, 1900’ of HDPE down drains, energy dissipating Rip Rap features, and topped with matting and grassing.

The top of the landfill was prepared with a 12” crushed stone surface for future solar panel arrays along with an integral grounding system and rigid conduits for ease of wiring for the solar project.
